Look at the address on the back before the word Jeju

When “Jeju” appears on a chilled shelf, begin with the Hangul on the back. 제조자, 제조원, 제조업소, and 유통전문판매원 are not interchangeable roles. Only an actual producer/manufacturer field and its address can be a clue to a manufacturing site; that address never establishes the origin of the rice, nuruk, or water.
A 30-second reading order
Photograph or note four fields: “producer,” “address,” “storage method,” and “date.” Check the food type, takju (탁주), too, but do not infer freshness, health properties, or ingredient origin from a front-label place name, the word “live,” or refrigeration. Korea’s current consolidated food-label notice is No. 2025-60; this article does not turn its full text into a legal checklist.
For live makgeolli, follow the bottle
aT Japan describes live makgeolli as a type not heat-pasteurized at the final manufacturing stage, generally requiring refrigeration and having a short shelf life because fermentation continues. The individual package’s storage and date still control. Kame-ni’s Cheju Live Makgeolli page gives 750ml, 6%, 70 unopened days from manufacture, and 0–6°C refrigeration—but that is one identified Japanese-market SKU, not every Jeju or live makgeolli.
Masillog travel note · do not read the bottle for someone else
Masillog travel note — This is a reconstructed purchase moment before several bottles, not a visit to a named shop or product. Rather than interpreting the bottle by its front, keep the four fields and photograph the actual Hangul. The lead is an editorial concept with label-free bottles and generic field names only.
