MAKGEOLLI
Chunpoong MiJu 12: two tasting sequences in one bottle
A clear pear, melon, and wildflower layer; a cloudy layer of vanilla, banana, and dense rice. Taste this 12% ABV makgeolli before and after shaking.
The clear layer is light and polished, the shaken layer is pale like rice-rinse water with tight texture and stronger sweetness, acidity, vanilla, banana, and ripe melon. Carbonation and finish length are not stated.
Use sashimi and seafood stew for the clear fruit layer, then rich dishes such as braised ribs or grilled eel for the shaken layer. The producer also suggests barbecue, Margherita pizza, and seafood risotto.

Do not shake at first: the clear layer shows pear, melon, wildflower aroma, quiet sweetness, and composed acidity. Shake after reaching the label line for vanilla, banana, ripe melon, denser sweetness, acidity, and texture. Sashimi or seafood stew suits the clear layer; braised ribs or grilled eel suits the shaken layer. MiJu 12 is a 12% ABV makgeolli that designs two tasting sequences and two plates within one bottle.
Masillog travel note
A reconstructed travel note, not an on-site report: set one bottle between two people in Seoul, leave the first glass unshaken, then roll the bottle together for the second.
Behind the bottle
